Alternative Housing Models: Community Land Trust?

Thursday, June 4, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Presented by Planners Network – Toronto Chapter

Toronto faces a shortage of affordable housing options. Over 640,000 people in Toronto need some kind of assistance to meet their housing needs. An increase in the lack of diverse housing options contributes to income polarization in our city. Join a discussion about the potential role of the Community Land Trust in contributing to the affordable housing stock: what are they? how do they work? and what is the role of planning and policy?

Michael Shapcott, Director of Housing and Innovation, Wellesley Institute
Allison Maxted, Project Team Member, Hamilton Community Land Trust
Kuni Kamizaki, Project Manager, Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust, PARC
