Creative and talented students showcase a number of Palestinian dabkas and folk stories that have lived on through the years. Complementing this great event, a guest appearances by talented professional groups: Al-Asala Dabke Group and A’idoon Dabkeh.
Dabke (Arabic: دبكة) is a modern Arab folk circle dance of possible Canaanite origin . It is performed in Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Hatay and Northern Saudi Arabia. Dabke combines circle dance and line dancing and is widely performed at weddings and other joyous occasions. Dabke is good for the body and the soul! It is a fun group dance that stimulates us physically and emotionally, boosts the morale and gives you a dose of joy. It has a social element to it, it teaches you to cooperate and synchronize with the group.

Zaytouna Dabke is concerned with preserving the Palestinian and Midddle Eastern heritage and culture. We teach the traditional folk dance (dabke), wedding songs and traditions, poetry and music, with a special focus on youth involvement, development and youth driven activities. Through creative and fun activities, we build bridges, linking the past with the present – visit site.
