Returning to Our Origins: Reconciling with Our Indigenous Selves

Sunday, October 4, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

| $60

Fund raising for rebuilding of the Lodge at Soul of the Mother on Six Nations Grand River Territory

What is the deeper meaning of reconciliation? How does it provide a foundation for creating new visions of the future grounded in a recognition of our particular role, past and present, in the great planetary web of life?

As part of our ongoing “Unconscious No More” series, this event will feature dialogue from Indigenous wisdom keepers, evolutionary psychologists and leaders in environmental and transformative education, each reflecting on the importance of our current historical moment and on the possibilities it offers for profound personal and collective change.

Our panel includes: traditional healer and ceremonial leader, Kahontakwas Diane Longboat; psychologist and author, Elinor Dickson; consultant in transformative practices and creative director of Spirit Matters, Eimear O’Neill; public health activist and community leader, Blake Poland; and African indigeneity and spirituality educator, Njoki Wane. Maria Vamvalis will moderate the discussion.

In addition to a participatory dialogue, we will also engage in a powerful traditional healing ceremony led by the Council of Soul of the Mother.  Understanding reconciliation in its deepest form leads us into the heart of the consciousness required for transformation today: our interconnection as members of one Earth community and a deep reconnection with the land.

Funds raised through this event will be directed towards the rebuilding of the Lodge at Soul of the Mother on Six Nations Grand River Territory. Since 1994, this sacred community space has served as a transformative hub, encouraging peoples from all directions and walks of life to reconnect with their indigenous spirit.
