Visualizing Palestine: Data Visualization and Storytelling

Friday, November 18, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

| $5

The final exhibition at Beit Zatoun

Exhibition: Friday, Nov-18 to Wednesday, Nov-30
Reception: Friday, Nov-18 at 7 pm

Visualizing Palestine creates community-empowering visual tools that describe a factual, rights-based narrative about the Palestinian-Israeli issue through data-driven journalism.
Visualizing Palestine infographics have been featured in various major media outlets including The Guardian, Huffington Post, Al-Jazeera English, The Daily Beast, PolicyMic, Open Democracy and Jadaliyya, and shared by numerous humanitarian NGOs and intergovernmental organizations, including ILO, UNRWA, and Oxfam.

While the Visualizing Palestine team has been primarily based out of the Middle East, the Toronto base is growing. Visualizing Palestine’s 2015 exhibition at Beit Zatoun connected us with a network of students, researchers, designers, and developers. This year we re-invite you to a talk about storytelling through data + design and upcoming projects.

Visualizing Impact (VI)  is a non-profit, interdisciplinary collective that uses data, technology, and design to communicate about critical social issues around the world.  Visualizing Palestine (VP), is a portfolio of Visualizing Impact (VI) launched in January 2012.
